“Platinum Blonde” (1931), with Robert Williams and Loretta Young as reporters (he falls in love with heiress Jean Harlow, the, umm, “titular” blonde).
“The Front Page,” the 1930 version. Terrific.
“Libeled Lady” (1936), a very funny comedy about a paper trying to weasel its way out of a libel suit (great cast: Spencer Tracy, Jean Harlow, William Powell, Myrna Loy).
“Dance, Fools, Dance” (1931), with Joan Crawford as a playgirl-turned-report tracking down gangsters.
