I’ve never seen that… I’ll have to check it out. Thanks!
And Dis-honorable mention to Rodney Dangerfield as “Grandpa Lucifer”!
“No problem? The last time ya told me that, the Renaissance happened!”
I liked Max von Sydow in Needful Things.
Also, that creepy claymation movie The Adventures of Mark Twain has a treatment of “The Mysterious Stranger.”
If so then John Glover from the canceled-before-its-time Fox series Brimstone would qualify.
Not to mention the (special effect) Devil in 5 Million Years to Earth.
I liked the portrayal in Crissroads.
And I think Ray Wise does a fine job on “Reaper.”
Emmanuel Seigner in The Ninth Gate.

No love for Ernest Borgnine in “The Devil’s Rain?”
As Edward Pinth-Garnell would say when wrapping up “Truely Bad Theater,” “That was truely bad.”
Laird Cregar in Heaven Can Wait. One of the best.
On TV, there was Alan Cumming on God, the Devil, and Bob.
I was surprised recently to learn that the demon in The Exorcist is not the Devil (Satan/Lucifer, etc.), but an Assyrian-Babylonian demon named Pazuzu. As best as I can tell, they’re completely unrelated entities.

*Constantine * was a… problematic movie, to say the least, but it did feature a brief, wonderful appearence by insane character actor Peter Stormare as Satan.
Consarne it! You beat me to it. I have that on an old VHS tape. I should watch it again. I remember Old Scratch stealing and eating an entire pie at the end. Pretty good movie.
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
Bruce Payne in Switch.
Has there ever been a film or TV adaptation of Paradise Lost? That would be a cool Satan-role!
Beavis & Butthead
Dave Grohl in Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
That would be, of course, a devil with a bad cold.
I don’t know if you want to count this Tourneur classic, since the baddie is called a “demon” and not Satan himself: Night of the Demon/A.K.A. Curse of the Demon/A.K.A. Haunted.
He’s a very nasty piece of work, in any event.
Emil Jannings as Mephistopheles in Faust (German silent film, 1926).
Andreas Teuber as Mephistopheles in Doctor Faustus (1967 screen adaptation of Marlowe’s play).
The abysmal Elliott Gould/Bill Cosby vehicle The Devil and Max Devlin.
The Devil and Daniel Mouse, which is an animated, anthropomorphic animal version of The Devil and Daniel Webster.
Was the demon in Horror at 30,000 Feet supposed to be Satan or some nameless minion demon?
Billy Zane played a pretty nasty and disturbingly blase Devil figure called “The Collector” in the Tales from the Crypt Movie Demon Knight.
Billy always does well with the crazy bad guys.
