I _said_ it was probably just me. For the record those are movies I had to watch with the Mrs.

_Field of Dreams_ and _Life is Beautiful_ are good ones to add on.

I cry at movies whenever the hell I feel like – which is often. I’m old enough to not give a damn what other people think about this.

I’ve cried at many of the movies that have been mentioned already on this thread.

I don’t cry at movies.I mean, they’re\* movies\*. Now if you leave the theater and find your car has been towed. . .

If you tear up at _For Love of the Game_, you get a pass. Ditto for _The Pride of the Yankees_.

Man-tears are also excusable at the end of _Benjamin Button_, where infant Benjamin, at the end of his life, looks at Daisy, slowly closes his weary eyes, and dies. I completely lost it.

I cried so much at the end of Schindler’s List, it was ridiculous. I cry at the episode of Futurama with Fry’s dog waiting outside the pizza place. Fuck, I’m tearing up right now.

Which is why _The Notebook_ belongs on the list. When Gena Rowlands ends her two minutes of lucidity and we have to watch James Garner dissolving while the attendants get her sedated, how can you not?

The only movie where I truly cried in the theater was _The Joy Luck Club_.
Knowing my parents’ lived through WWII in China probably had a lot to do with that one. I remember leaving the theater an absolute wreck.

I have gotten choked up in other movies, but nothing to the level of _The Joy Luck Club_.

Oh Lord yes. We took my 6-year old and the theater was full of sniffling dads at the end.

My husband says:
_Miracle (mostly the end where the announcer yells "Do you believe in miracles!!?)
My Life
Field of Dreams
Saving Private Ryan_

Ok, I got teary at:

_Toy Story 3
Old Yeller_ (but I was just a kid)
_Awakenings_

and maybe a few others I’m forgetting.

But _The Notebook_ just put me in a seething rage. What a piece of crap movie that was! I was glad when they died, I just wish it had been more painful.

Seconded, and **Grave of the Fireflies** makes me cry like a baby every time. **Dear Zachary** wrecked me. I recommend not reading about it - just watch it, it’s excellent - but I wouldn’t make plans after.

Indeed. _Old Yeller_, perhaps. _Up!_ is marginal. Everything else is not a guy movie.

My vote goes for _The Great Escape_: of course the scene where Blyth is shot after he and Hendley crash, and also the scene were Hilts crashes into the wire just short of Switzerland.

This came out within a year or so of my father dying unexpectedly, and it still chokes me up to this day. My father and I weren’t estranged, per se, but there was a lot of distance between us that, had we both been more adult about, could have been a non-issue.

I saw it alone in the theater, and _Philadelphia_ got to me, too.

_Saving Private Ryan_, the beginning, at Omaha.

I’m not religious by ANY stretch of the imagination, but the torture scenes in _Passion of the Christ_ had me in tears. Not for the religious aspect, but just thinking of ANYONE having to endure that much punishment for, essentially, no real reason. That Jesus guy was a saint! I’d have been more like [Peter Griffin](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPYdeif17lo&feature=related).
