The classic example is The Wizard of Oz with Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. Some people debate it, but they obviously aren’t watching with the proper… um, enhancement. Another one that’s really trippy is 2001: A Space Odyssey with another Floyd album, Meddle. Start the movie with 23:27 remaining and play track 6, Echoes, it’s awesome. Recently I heard the Japanese anime Akira syncs up with DJ Shadow’s Entroducing. I haven’t had the chance to try it yet, has anyone else? What have your experiences been syncing up movies to other music?

I read today that Tim Burton’s _The Nightmare Before Christmas_ syncs up with Radiohead’s _Kid A_. I expect there’s as much validity to that theory as any other.

I’m not kidding. Trigun, the first DVD of the 8 DVD set synchs up with Frank’s Wild years. It’s not intentional, but it’s damn funny, because the way those anime mouthes’ are really open and seem to be yelling goes perfectly with Wait’s style on the CD.

It does help to do a lot of acid first, but it’s still funny even w/o the acid. But I think the LSD thing is a given for these scenarios.

Hey, I’m not kidding, either. I can’t give you a time stamp from synching them up, or guarantee that it’s noticible without extensive chemical assitence, but it’s there. The big rape scene matches up particularly well with The Smith’s “How Soon is Now,” to the extent it looks like the characters are mouthing the lyrics.

Admittedly, I was going to come back and post that _The Brave Little Toaster_ synchs up with Nick Cave’s _Murder Ballads_, but that would’ve been a joke. I’m serious about _Titus_, though. Besides, **gex gex** beat me to the Nick Cave reference.

This isn’t a movie and a album thing…but I always thought the song “Paranoid Android” matched up perfectly with “Moby Dick” (except you’d have to read it real fast…)

I even wrote a paper on it my freshman year. I could never find anyone else (online at least) that shared my sentiments. But there were some haunting similarities.

Sorry **zen101** and **Miller** , knee jerk reaction. I’m always on the look out for my next snark.

By chance The Nightmare Before Christmas was on HBO tonight so I threw in Kid A, and it was pretty damn good. Matched up in several places. My guests liked it as well.

I’ve tried Kid A-Nightmare before Christmas myself, and they synch up pretty well. Even if it wasn’t done intentionally, which it probably wasn’t, it still makes a nice alternate soundtrack.

I doubt any of them are intentional, but that doesn’t make them any less fun to watch. BTW, when Kid A ended the next disc in my player was Kruder and Dorfmeister: The K & D Sessions, it went very nicely with the remainder of the movie.
