Movies that you have watched but never bothered finishing.

I guessed the twist very early on as well, but it didn’t ruin the movie for me. In fact, the twist is so obvious I’d wager that the viewer is (more or less) assumed to see it and that the story is driven by the main characters realizing what is going on. *Colombo *gone gothic, if you will.

The Godfather.

I’ve tried. I’ve really tried. I’ve made several attempts to actually watch this “epic,” but I can never get more than 45 minutes into it before I just can’t take it anymore.

It strikes me as too pretentious. And it seems like it’s a victim of the hype that people have built up about it. I keep expecting to fall immediately into the story, and I find myself bored shitless each time.

Have you tried Godfather II? I like The Godfather, but it’s thoroughly outdone by the sequel.

No, I never have. Perhaps I should. I just always figured that, if I hadn’t made it through the first film, I’d completely lost in the sequel.

Maybe not.

I thought Woodstock was too ponderous to watch.

Pretty much all porn movies start out boring, then get kinda interesting, then quite interesting, then very interesting, then extremely interesting, then boring again.

It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. I watched most of it, but the DVD was scratched and stopped working. I think I missed the last 20 min. That movie was so long an boring, I didn’t even bother to get a replacement disc from Netflix to finish it.

Nicolas Cage’s The Weather Man. I got about halfway into it, decided that Cage’s character was not only unlikeable, but uninteresting, and I had no real need or desire to see how the story played out. Turned off the DVD.

I rented The Trip, an LSD movie with Peter Fonda. Total yawnfest. Maybe you had to be on LSD to appreciate it. Anyway, rented it, didn’t even get halfway through, rented it again years later because I never finished it. And again, couldn’t get all the way through it.

Another one I couldn’t finish was Adam’s Rib, with Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn.
It just seemed lame. And that one’s considered a classic.

I’ve started watching *Dances with Wolves *three or four times. They should rename it Plods Along Endlessly with or without Wolves.

Same thing happened to me. I first saw this movie at a sleep-over when I was 12 or 13; couldn’t keep my eyes open.

Reservoir Dogs. I love the first third or so, but it really starts to drag after the famous Michael Madsen ear-cutting scene.

Princess Mononoke. I’m a big fan of Miyazaki but for some reason I can’t get through that one.

:eek::confused:

Blade Runner. I started watching it alone one Christmas holiday, and found it too slow-moving to keep me interested without somebody else to watch it with.

Believe it or not, kayaker, I was in the same boat with **Stand By Me **for a long time. It’s a good movie, but I was never motivated enough to dedicate two hours to it until my gf wanted to watch it one day.

Wow. A few of these films are on my all time favorite list. I’ve seen Stand By Me, Bladerunner, Reservoir Dogs each over the years at least 6 times

Well, maybe you’re boring and nobody bothers to finish a conversation with y

Reservoir Dogs is actually one of my favorite movies. I just only like the first part.

This is the one that surprises me. However, if you watched that much and didn’t enjoy it, I wouldn’t recommend that you go on. It’s not like the ending makes it a substantially different movie.
