Okay, a couple of suggestions in the spirit of the OP: **Willy Wona’s Ride** – based on the original Gene Wilder movie. Flashing lights, psycho babbling, and decapitated chickens for all! [![]( " - YouTube") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6j25yIPUlE) **Eraserhead – The Ride** – Steam venting everywhere, weird-faced people with odd haircuts, snakelike _things_ falling from the ceiling. The ride passes those embryonic lamb-faced babies (of various sizes) in swaddling clothes and with vaporizers going. Don’t miss the song and dance. And everyone gets free pencils and a miniature chicken dinner at the end. National Lampoon had something in this vein, which I can’t find online – **T.S. Eliot’s WasteLand** , featuring “The Ragged Claws” ride, A ride for women (with doors labeled “Come” and “go”, and with a statue of Michelangelo’s _David_), and so on. ---

The Earthquake ride moved from Freedomland to [Cedar Point](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedar_Point) in 1966 and operated until 1984. I remember it well. ---

It was so popular that, when Freedomland closed in the early 1960s, this ride ggotr transported to the Lake George NY amusement park, where it continued to run for decades. I think it’s finally closed now. Universal Studios in Orlando had an Earthquake ride as well. It’s been rebranded once or twice, and is currently called “Disaster, Starring You!”, but it’s still essentially the same thing - being in a subway car during an earthquake. ---
