I was thinking about wether _Valkyrie_ was worth seeing, and remembered that the real Stauffenburg was hung/strangled with piano wire, IIRC. And I thought seeing Tom Cruise strangled would be worth the price of admission. So, do they show his death in the movie, and are there any other Cruise movies that kill him off? šŸ˜› ---

First: to the best of my recollection, nope. Itā€™s a staged execution by gunfire and they cut away at the gunshot. Secondly: thereā€™s a handfulā€“_Vanilla Sky_, _Taps_,\* Collateral\*, _Interview with the Vampire_ if you count being undead. ---

Claus von Stauffenberg was executed by firing squad after a summary court marital just as in the film. His older brother, _Berthold_ von Stauffenberg, was the one hung with piano wire. He didnā€™t have as big a role as his brother and wasnā€™t in the film at all. ---

I think Tommy dies in Youngs Guns II in an uncredited role as a jailed cattle rustler (he has a moustache on as well, so heā€™s kinda hard to spot), but I canā€™t recall for sure. ---
