I was confused in my mind between
**True Lies** and **True Romance**

when I opened this thread [The Tango! (True Lies) - Cafe Society - Straight Dope Message Board](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=447974)

_Magnolia_ and _Steel Magnolias_.

One is P. T. Anderson’s relentlessly depressing epic, which tells the tale of a group of strangers whose lives are intimately intertwined set to Aimee Mann’s most poignant album. The other is a classic “friendships between women” chick flick.

Their only commonality is that they both make me cry.

Everytime I tell people one of my favorite movies is [**The man who came to dinner**](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0033874/), they think I’m talking about [**Guess who’s coming to dinner**](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061735/).

I was named after Sheridan Whitehead in that movie.

His first line in it is:

> [@](#):

> I think I’m going to vomit.
Which is the appropriate one for Mom? The one about teenage boys trying to get laid, the one where an underage girl shows her boobs to the boy next door and her dad tries to nail her cheerleader friend, or the one where the crazy guy kills a lot of people in graphic fashion?
That’s what I was wondering…I wouldn’t watch any of those with my mom! 🙂

I was thinking of _The Piano_ and _The Pianist_.
