Rocky (any of the bunch, except the original, which rates 2 stars)

Battlefield Earth…OMG…involuntary gag reflex. A stinker that can be smelled miles away.

Actually, the Myers in H2O was a copycat killer. At least that’s what i hear from Dimension.

Anyway, my choice:

The Ladies Man. If SNL couldn’t make a decent picture out of two silent night clubbers who like bumping their guts into women, how the hell do they expect to make one out of a shit-- excuse me, skit-- aboot a guy who talks directly to the camera aboot his love of anal sex? Would somebody please just kill Lorne Michaels already? Well, no, he did give us The Kids in the Hall. Just knock off Tim Meadows. His life sucks anyway.

It’s amazing how many people believe movies were made with the EXPRESS purpose of pissing them off that they can actually build up enough emotion to _hate_ a movie. I may not LIKE any number of movies, and I may figure that a movie would “suck” to me just by watching the previews, but have I actually hated any movies that I’ve watched? Can’t say that I have. Perhaps if I get to be good friends with some producer, screw his wife, and get him angry enough to create a whole movie just to insult and malign me… THEN, maybe I could! \<smirks\>

First off, I never go to the movies alone. Even for movies I’d _want_ to see, I just can’t see the reason to go by myself. Therefore, even if we watch not-so-good movies, my friends and I tend to have fun ripping into it afterward, which can be much more fun than a movie itself.

Also, even though you all KNOW it, it deserves to be restated: ALL movies won’t please everyone. Most of them have to appeal to the largest demographic, as that’s the only way they’ll make money. EVERY movie has its’ bad points, and the more you want to dwell on them the less you’ll like it.

The answer…? Don’t dwell on them. If you go into the theatre with the mindset that you’re not going to like the movie, then guess what? You’re not going to like it. Sure, I’ve gone to movies figuring they’ll be bad, or nervous because I’m hoping they WON’T screw up, but I don’t let it color my judgement. And when you sit around and judge something by the previews, you might as well do nothing but read the inside leafs of books. “You’ll never know until you try it” is especially true with movies. My brother, his wife, and I had to practically YELL at our mother to go see “The Sixth Sense” because it WAS a movie that she WOULD enjoy, and NO, it’s not a damn “horror flick!” Heh.

A movie’s job is to distract you from the real world for a couple hours, and whether it does so by letting you immerse yourself in it, or chide with your friends about all the bad parts, it’s done that job. \<chuckles\>

One can enjoy almost anything if one wants to. One can HATE anything if one wants to. Myself, I prefer the first option.

I agree with the people who think AUTUMN IN NEW YORK looks like it sucks. I am a big Winona Ryder fan, I just don’t want to see her in a cheesy love story with her grandfather.
