I’m not sure I’d say I _love_ the movie, since it’s such a harrowing experience, but the music in _Requiem for a Dream_ is fundamental to the power of the film. ---

No love for _Saturday Night Fever_? From the opening strains of “Stayin’ Alive” as John Travolta walks down the street with his paint can, chewing a slice of pizza to the subway ride with “How Deep Is Your Love?” “Manhattan Skyline,” “Night on Disco Mountain,” “Disco Inferno”. I believe the soundtrack was the biggest selling album of all time until it was beaten by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” just a few years later. Love disco or hate it, it captured the essence of the late 70s with all of its excesses. ---

“O Lucky Man” – Alan Price songs as commentary, bright bouncy tunes about terrible things “Chariots of Fire” – the music became a cliche, but, at the time, it was outstanding. “Truly Madly Deeply” ---

“Triplets of Belleville” - a French cartoon that I think was an Oscar winner. Saw this quite a few years ago, but I still remember the music ---
