“Blade,” “Blade II” and “Blade III.” The movies are all awful. Blade II was on again last night and it was even worse than I had remembered. In one scene I thought, “Jesus, it looks like children directed this. The kids who did those light saber fights on Youtube are better writers, directors, AND actors. This is amateurish shit.” The funny thing is I find myself thinking that every time I watch a Blade movie: “Holy mother of Christ, this is even more terrible than I remembered.” And yet I love them. I love watching Wesley Snipes disintegrate vampires. They could make a new Blade movie every month and I’d watch them all. ---

Spectacularly unfunny. You’ve definitely got a point there, I felt the same way about some of it. However, Borat was meant as a satire on xenophobia, bigotry and cultural ignorance. The point at which it stops being satire and becomes nasty is debateable. For me, it hinges on how it was edited. When Sasha Baron Cohen (raised as an orthodox jew) sang “throw the jew down the well, so my country can be free” in Borat, the crowd did seem receive it enthusiastically, which is pretty scary. i liked down periscope really funny comedy which nobody has seemed to have heard of but everyone whoes seen it has liked it and the gods must be crazy 1 2 (even the Chinese 3 was funny) ---

I’m not ashamed, but I still love and occasionally watch Homeward Bound (the newer one with voices of Sally Field and Michael J. Fox), Babe, and Milo and Otis. Don’t do it often because I still end up crying buckets over them and I cry enough as it is. At times I wish I had some little kids to watch them with. ---

_Dude, Where’s My Car?_, and then… The Travolta Trilogy of Trash–_Saturday Night Fever_,_Urban Cowboy_,_Stayin’ Alive_. I kinda liked the reviled _Death To Smoochy_, as well. The grandkids give cover for my kid movie/ cartoon interests. ---

**The Day After Tomorrow**. Because watching downtown L.A. get destroyed by tornados will never not be funny. **Mystic Pizza**. Silly 80s romcom about 3 girls coming of age while working at a CT pizza parlor, with Julia Roberts (before she hit it big), Lili Taylor and Annabeth Gish. Soundtrack is awful. But I always watch it. ---

I’m not ashamed of my movie loves – others are, though. The ones I can think of right now? The **Weekend at Bernie’s** movies – it kills me to watch what they do to the dummy version and to the actor playing Bernie. I would LOVE to see the gag reels from those two movies. I don’t know how they could have kept a straight face to get through a scene when Bernie has that dorky look on his face! I liked the Matrix sequels, as well.
