I’m surprised anyone is embarassed about liking _What About Bob?_, most people I know love that movie (I hate it). My guilty pleasure-type flicks: _Tango & Cash_ - I know it’s awful and it rips off stunts from Jackie Chan flicks, but I love it. _Head_ - The Monkees’ career killer of a film. I love the way they skewer themselves and their pop status. Some of the songs are pretty good. Plus, I just can’t hate any flick that has the heroes getting stuck inside a vacuum cleaner, finding a pot roach, taking a whiff of it and refering to it as “not one of your standard brands” and "an _el Zoomo_ ". _The Matchmaker_ - Janeane Garofalo and the Irish scenery make up for the stupid, predictable plot, “komedy” high jinks, and Irish stereotypes in place of character development. ---

_Bless the Child_. I went to see that because the preview looked pretty cool. When I actually watched the movie, the strangest thing happened - I recognized the movie as a cliched piece of crap, yet at the same time, I enjoyed it. I don’t mean in a so-bad-it’s-good way like _MST3K_ movies or _Plan 9_, but as it was actually intended to be enjoyed. I can’t even explain to myself why I like it. ---

i really like _ten things i hate about you_ even though it’s stupid teenage garbage…some of the lines in it are really funny, and for some reason this makes up for the predictability of the plot. i feel like listing all the movies that are stupid that i DON’T like to prove myself…like the music snob in high fidelity. i’m down with it, i got the 411, and you’re not gettin’ jiggy with some guy. i don’t care how dope his ride is…my momma didn’t raise no fool. ---

The 1980 screen version of “Flash Gordon”, with Sam Jones, Chaim Topol, Timothy Dalton, Ornella Muti, and Max von Sydow. I saw that movie on a night I was depressed(too long a story) and left the theater laughing and much cheered up. ---
