Moving a parked manual car uphill

Yeah, and a hill start with e-brake is going to be easier on the clutch, so there’s not going to be an issue with using that method for a hill start. From my understanding, it’s prolonged riding the clutch while in traffic or waiting for a light to turn that will cause premature wear, but I’m not an auto mechanic. As I’ve said above, all the cars I’ve owned have been manuals with 120K+ miles, and no issues with the clutch or transmission. I almost never ride the clutch. Now I’ve had valet drivers return the car to me smelling of nothing but bitter burning clutch, but not after anything I’ve ever done to the car.
