Moving from Maryland to Nevada: what do I need to do? (Car, taxes, etc.)

I think there is also an exception for construction workers - say you were here on a certain job and intended to move back when the job was completed. Depends upon the type of work and documentation - but I know of one person who kept their license and tags in another state (only here in NV for the one job) and this was OK with the Nevada DMV.

But again - I think NV is cheaper than most states, so not exactly sure why so many people don’t just switch when they get here. Oh - and I would add that car insurance most certainly varies drastically, depending upon which part of town you live in! When we first moved here, we lived in an apartment close(er) to The Strip, and when we moved to our house (much further from The Strip) the insurance when down about 25%. Maybe that is normal everywhere, but it was news to me.

Yes, insurance in all states is rated by the zip-code where the owner normally parks overnight.

Going from the middle of humidity hell to the Great Basin, where humidity percentages go negative? Buy saline nasal spray.
