m moving to a new address and may have to have a new internet, phone, electricity. How do I notify The Straight Dope Board. I will be moving on Saturday.and want to continue with the Straight Dope? ---

You don’t have to do anything. The Board doesn’t pay any attention to where you are; as long as you get your login correct, you can reach it from anywhere. ---

If you change your email address, just edit in in your profile. Otherwise, do nothing. ---

The only thing you will need to do for the SDMB is update your e-mail when you change internet providers. Click on the upper left where it says UserCP to bring up your user control panel, then click on edit e-mail and password on the left. ---

On the email changing thing you could get a free gmail account and then never worry about having to change your email here at the Dope when you move or get a new internet service provider. ---

If you use Gmail or Yahoo or Hotmail or any of the myriad other free online e-mail services, you can just go on using it just like you always have. ---

I know (and **Qadgop the Mercotan** , being a doctor, will surely agree) that one should check the expiration dates now and then, and dispose of all the expired electrons. But they don’t take up much space, and I keep thinking that some of those old electrons may someday become valuable collectors’ items, just like those old Mad comic books I threw out when I was much younger and dumber.
