By hitting “post reply” rather than “new thread”, I originally tacked this request onto the end of an unrelated thread (yeah, I know, not too bright). Can anybody recommend a good, preferably free MPEG player? I have Winplayer 7, and it has never worked right.

I use gdivx. plays all those annoying divx movies windows media player refuses to play even with the correct codecs.

goto [download.com](http://download.com) and search for gdivx

[www.divx.com](http://www.divx.com) for the divx codec jsut in case you need it.

I’d have to strongly advise against Windows Media Player 9!!!

-[It can’t be easily uninstalled.](http://www.winxpnews.com/index.cfm?id=52&search=media%20player%209)

-[Check out the end user license agreement:](http://www.winxpnews.com/index.cfm?id=34&search=eula)

Hrm… Those links are talking about the beta version of WMP 9. I have no idea what the full version is like.

Sorry if I gave you misinformation.
