I’m going to throw my vote (which counts double, now that Obama’s in office :D) behind “Stuff I Must Share” unless someone comes up with a better phrase connoting miscellany. If people are still seeking an alternative, I’ll throw out “Around the Water Cooler.” ---

I like “Stuff I must share”. It retains a connection to the old name, important for old sentimentalists like me, while removing the problematic “mundane pointless”. ---

I suggest “Guess what?” It would seem to cover most cases. You will probably have to mod out the occasional “chicken butt” thread. ---

It’s had the same name forever, and since the beginning, it’s had threads like the ones mentioned in the OP, so I don’t see the point. There’s something to be said for tradition, you know. ---

That was Field Marshal Haig’s response to people during WWI who suggested that climbing out of their trenches and slowly walking towards the enemy whilst under heavy machine-gun and artillery fire wasn’t working very well, too. 😉 ---

Another vote to keep it as is. It’s tradition, it’s unique to the SDMB, it’s got an attitude and tone that Cecil might use, and when a thread isn’t really Mundane or Pointless, I’m not distracted by the forum title. ---
