Let’s see, where to begin… **Eonwe** , actually the study shows me that drinking has remained at a more or less constant level. Not to mention the fact thst they don’t give the % +/- leads me to give your vaunted study very little credibility. That and the fact that there is very little explanation about what exactly that table shows, or purports to show. **SimonX** , care to back up your claim that “ **there are so many reasons to Pit Mr. Breakfast?** ” And it’s pretty pathetic that you couldn’t tell that the thread you linked to had been moved to the Pitt. Your comments about Gen Y are true? Okay then, kindly tell me what I’m supposed to feel entitled about since I can’t think of a thing. I’d also be interesting in hearing how my classmates are all spoiled, seeing as how most of them are working their way through college or are saving up for graduate school. And 90 encounters with drunk students in your high school? I’d have to go looking really hard to encounter 90 drunk students on my supposedly alcohol-saturated college campus right now and there’s a lot more legal drinkers here than in a high school, drinking age of 18 be damned. What kind of high school did you go to, anyway? ---

Holy crap, I’m a teenage alcoholic and I didn’t even realize it! Yes, **Mr. Evil Breakfast** , I have partaken of alcoholic beverages half a dozen times, all in the company of my parents and restricted to a single glass or less. But it’s my Roman Catholic friends you should really be watching. They drink at every communion before they jump into the family sedan and run over a few nuns. If the drinking age were returned to eighteen, I’d probably not do anything about it for a while, then go to a bar (where I can already enter legally) and listen to music with a couple of my friends and choke down a cosmopolitan before walking home. I’ll give you that not all teenagers are like us: it’s widely accepted that the underage frat boys and sorority sisters drink at my school, as do other groups. Do you think this situation would change if the drinking age were raised to 30? Then again, there’s always the argument that illegal activity loses much of its allure once it is legalized. ---

You know, **RexDart** , the internet is blind. You don’t know what a person looks like, what their age is, what their gender is, even, some of the time, unless somebody states it or otherwise implies it (eg. saying that they are in high school, putting up a picture, etc.), so by putting a blanketed sheet of bigotry over the board like that, you never know who you might be insulting…just something to keep in mind the next time you have the urge to be such an asshole…and there are some teenage posters here, though I don’t recall very many specific names, and they are far from your little stereotype. _sighs_ Every time you think you’re getting somewhere, someone pops up with another generalization… ---

God knows the young people have no monopoly on stupid posts 'round here. I can never recall reading a post and saying, “XXX is clearly eighteen and at the pinnacle of immaturity!” As a former child genius (thank God I fixed that by judicious use of intoxicants- I’m within 2 standard deviations of the mean now), I concur with those who say ripping on the young is offensive. They often have a spirit of inquiry and honest desire to educate themselves/others that is sadly lacking among the Dusty and Crusty. That said, there are many others who deserve an old-timey pig roast more than Mr. Most Important Meal of the Day. ---
