I wasn’t sure whether to post this under the Chicago Straight Dope or not. I think it’s more of a Cafe Society thread.

Alan Rubin is dead of lung cancer at 68. Fans of _The Blues Brothers_ will remember him as the trumpet playing “Mr Fabulous” who was the maitre’d at the late lameted Chez Paul in the movie. His best line? “The soup here is fucking ten dollars!”
