What about the fact that in California, the Supreme Court justices are elected, not appointed.

I really think that as they started winding down over the last few years they should have had Craig T. Nelson as the judge sign an occasional warrant and give Monk the occasional ribbing.

Say what you want about the story, it could have been very cliche but it wasn’t.

I have another nitpick. One that I didn’t mention at the time, but it has stayed with me. In “Mr. Monk Goes Camping,” Monk, Randy, and the campers encountered a grizzly bear. A grizzly bear? In California? Yes, grizzly bears formerly inhabited much of the western United States at one point, and used to be quite common in California. But today, In the U.S., they can only be found in Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and possibly Colorado. Any grizzly bear found in California is likely to be in a zoo, or else a captive-born bear trained for work in TV or the movies, ironically like the one in the Monk episode. They would have been 500 times more likely to have run into a black bear.

A Black Bear would be much less likely to Treadwellize your ass. 🙂
