# MS Word find and replace on multiple files (Sharepoint)

Hi, need methods for finding strings in up to 100 MS Word (2007 format) documents and replacing with a new string. For example if a phone number appears in 60 out of 1,600 documents, would like to replace them with a new number.

Preferably works with Sharepoint document libraries.

We do not have access to Sharepoint Developer.

Comfortable with VBA method or could get a .NET or C# developer on the task, but expect that there must already be some inexpensive programs available. There’s a shareware suite called Useful File Utilities that includes a Replacer plug in but the CNET review was lukewarm.

I am a fan and heavy user of Jack Lyon’s Word tools at [www.editorium.com](http://www.editorium.com). He has one called MegaReplacer that can do S&R on all documents in a folder. I don’t know anything about Sharepoint, but if it uses a folder system, it might work. Jack is super awesome about answering questions about his products, and they all come with a 45-day full-version free trial. Usual disclaimers: I am just a very satisfied customer.
