I’ve recently gotten into some hot water over deleting a few people from my MSN contact list. Fortunately, MSN allows one to not only delete contacts but ‘ignore’ annoying ones too. That still leaves me pondering, how do people know if I’ve deleted them from my contact list?

I haven’t used it in a while, but under the options tab you can see who has you on their list.

“Tools - Options - Privacy”.

Several ways to check. You can either click the button that says “View”, which shows you who has you on their list, or you can click their e-mail address/name in the “block list” or “allow list” on that same tab. When you right click the name, if “Delete” is an option, they’ve deleted you.

Also, if you’re blocking people, make sure you visit that “Privacy” tab and click the box for “Only people on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages”. There are many websites out there that give people the option of “searching” for your e-mail address on MSN to see if you’re online or not. If that box isn’t checked, you’re shown as online, and you have one angry annoying person hounding you worse than before.
