You have to buy the DVDs. You can find them easily at Amazon.

Some of the ones listed in this thread aren’t available by DVD. I am aware that there are ways to view non-officially-available episodes, but I don’t know what these ways are, and I am certain I wouldn’t be allowed to tell you on this board even if I did know.

As far as I know, there is nowhere you can go online to view any MST3K episodes. I think you used to be able to watch a lot of them on Youtube, but it appears those are gone.

Huh.

I stand sort of corrected.

(What are the rules around here for presenting such links? I should read the rules sometime…)

:smack:

I just didn’t get that from the OP. I guess I figured that if he had DVDs, he’d play them on a DVD player.

None that I can see. All the rules [are here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=384736), and this doesn’t seem to violate any of them. It’s not linking to a P2P file sharing site, it’s linking to Google Video. No copyright violation on this end. If BBI has any problem with this, it should be taken up with Google. I wouldn’t count on that link remaining active forever, though.

No, no, no. “Normal VIEWWWWW!” is meant to be used for dramatic moments. Friend: “And then, Ricki caught Bruce in bed with Rob!” You: “Normal VIEW!”

My favorites have already been mentioned, so I’ll second them:

_Mr. B Natural
Pod People
The Legend of Boggy Creek II
This Island Earth_

I don’t see _The Mole People_ mentioned, which includes one of my favorite lines for everyday use: “I’m not being sa-cri-ficed, ha ha, Sherry, ha ha.” And _Phantom Planet_ features flying fried chicken asteroids.

I also get a huge kick out of any of the 1950’s propaganda shorts, such as [Keeping Clean and Neat](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRB3xDg5pnU), [Appreciating Our Parents](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BavuV6Rg61s&feature=related), and [Posture Pals](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDjBsOkidek).

I’ve been using YouTube. So far I’ve found what I’ve been looking for (except for the last few minutes of _Werewolf_).

I don’t have very much experience with bad movies. I don’t usually watch TV or movies in the first place, and when I do it’s because they’ve come highly recommended. That being said, _Puma Man_ has to be the stoopidest film I have ever seen. I actually found myself wincing in embarassment at certain points.

Hands down… Pod People wins my vote. “Chief?” “McCloud!” and another classic is the running joke of… :: ok sign:: “It stinks!”

I started to watch _Santa Claus Conquers The Martians_, but even with MST3K, it was so painfully bad I had to stop about ten minutes into the movie.

I’ve found that for some reason, it’s easier to watch the episodes the second time around. The movies can be really, REALLY bad and you just find them so painful you can’t concentrate on the riffs. But then once you get over it, and know what to expect, it’s even better!

It’s from the 70s police drama [McCloud](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCloud_(TV_series)). Dennis Weaver was a Texas lawman who was “on loan” to the NYPD, and he and the Chief of Detectives didn’t see eye to eye.

> [@](#):
>
> Another recurring theme in the show was the conflict between McCloud and his superior, NYPD Chief of Detectives Peter B. Clifford, played in every episode but the pilot by J.D. Cannon. In the first episodes, their relationship was portrayed as somewhat amiable, with Clifford showing a wary respect for the unconventional Westerner assigned to his command. The relationship quickly soured based mostly on McCloud’s seeming disregard of authority combined with a charm that let him escape many of the consequences of his “cowboy-like” determination. Clifford’s attitude to McCloud became one of cynical antagonism, bordering at times on extreme rage, but usually tempered with a grudging respect for McCloud’s ability to solve the most difficult of cases.

Midway through Season 8 (their first on SciFi), they went through an absolutely brilliant streak: Prince of Space, parts: the clonus horror, Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies, Giant Spider Invasion, Space Mutiny. All are hysterically funny, and I think all are available on DVD.

Space Mutiny is probably my all-time favorite for the chase scene on those little maintenance cars with Mike and the Bots singing clown music.
