That was the funniest sketch commedy show! So much better than SNL, but it only lasted one season! Why oh WHY did MTV cancel it? There was Doug, “I’m outta here!” and the giant Sea Monkeys. And then the guy who was raised in a barn! Or the straight guy who pretended to be gay so he could be popular in high school? That show was the BEST!!! It’s not fair! I miss it! ---

there was a show about 3 or 4 years ago on mtv called head trip. that one was funny. had the best diss for carson daly yet ---

The State was soooo cool. I sometimes see the people from that show in commercials now. Remember Doug’s (I think it was Doug, anyway) other catch phrase? Did MTV cancel it? I thought The State decided to move on to do a series of specials for CBS (which didn’t come to fruition). ---

Oh yes, I loves me some The State. It was the funniest sketch show _ **ever** _. I really wish they’d air it again on some station, because I never got a chance to see the halloween episode that aired on another network (abc iicr) ☹ It’s disappointing that everything I’ve seen the cast in afterwards (that weird show on Comedy Central where they pretended to be from Europe; **Wet Hot American Summer** ) are not nearly as funny. I remember a mock cereal commercial which featured moronic, gibberish dialogue that I thought was funny as hell. ---

Hell yeah, I love the State. I actually the video that MTV released in 1995 with about an hour’s worth of sketches … lots of great stuff! I also have a tape of about 2 hours worth of stuff I taped back in 1994. I had another tape full of stuff, but someone borrowed it in high school and that was 7 years ago, so I don’t remember who had it. “Krispy Pops - They’re _pretty_ good!” “Baby, that’s what I do every night. I cook and then I chiiillll.” “Maybe you should start…wearing pants!” I can go on all day. ---

Ahhh yaaa…thats a whole lotta pudding! Most of the cast of ‘The State’ went on to Comedy Central in ‘Upright Citizens Brigade’, I think. Various people then went on to Strangers with Candy. Again, I think. My memory isn’t what it used to be…But I do remember all of the mentioned shows were spleen-burstingly funny. ---

the state was a great show. ian michael black shows up on comedy central here and there. I liked Viva Variety as well. Thomas Lennon is in “A guy thing” being release…friday? i’m outta heeee eeee rrrreeee. ---

No, it wasn’t Doug who dipped his balls in things, it was Louie. And there was this one time, he came to the Last Supper, because Judas invited him, and Jesus got really pissed, so when the Romans came looking for him, and they asked what Jesus to describe Jesus, he described Louie to them! Ha! Yeah, the Pope-ah! And they all poured spaghetti sauce on each other! Or the skit where the one girl on the show said it wasn’t really hard being the only female on the show-and then they had all these stereotypes about how she liked to watch movies and cry and only ate little salads for lunch and had crushes on all the guys. And then they asked Chelsea Clinton if they could stay at the White House! And they made a little sweater for Socks! ---
