My multidisc DVD player (5 years old) finally went to that electronics store in the sky (claims there is “NO DISC” when there really are discs in there). I could get it repaired, but for about the same price I could get a DVD/VCR combo, but those are all single disc players. If I am watching LOTR, I do not want to get up every two house to switch the discs. And I already have a VCR for the 5 videos tapes have not given away.

Any particular multi-disc player brands you would (or would NOT) recommend(three or fives would suit my needs)? I found one a ouple of months ago at Target (Kawasaki brand) for $70, but haven’t seen it since. Severely kicking myself for that. And stopping into Best Buy did not help - nothing in stock at this time. Local Wal\*Mart has only single disc combo players, with no plans to carry multis.

_Whale Rider_ and _The Lion in Winter_ are gathering dust, as well as all my multisets (Clint Eastwood, LOTR, The Beverly Hillbillies, et al). Help?

Stay away from the Philips 5 disc carousel. I owned one and it broke after 2 days. Read the reviews on [amazon](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000068U2N/qid=1103553086/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1_etk-electronics/102-0086985-9780110?v=glance&s=electronics&n=172282) it is crap. I assume you can just go to amazon and look at the reviews for 5 disk DVD players until you find a good one. The Toshiba SD3805 & Panasonic DVD-F85S have good reviews.

I’ve got a [Sony DVP-CX985V](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000DIK0U/qid=1103560223/br=1-10/ref=br_lf_e_10//002-3255223-9456023?v=glance&s=electronics&n=226745). It’ll swallow all your multi-disc sets with room to spare.
