Making coffee. Especially since I have go all the way over _there_ to get the filtered water, and probably nobody took a new bag of beans out of the freezer so they would be properly thawed. (My husband has strong feelings about how coffee is to be prepared). Really, it only takes a couple of minutes, but when I want coffee there should just already BE SOME. Is that too much to ask, universe?! :mad: ---

At one of the hospitals my wife used to work at, the staff wore paper scrubs. They came out of a vending machine. You might give those a try. She said they were terribly uncomfortable, though. ---

In her final email to him, she pointed out that he’d never done laundry in his life and had evolved into such a vile creature such that he’d never remarry and have a laundress. He forwarded the email to me with an LOL. I replied with the name and address of where he could drop off his laundry and pay to have it done. This was simple info I found online in two minutes, but it transformed his life. He replied to his wife’s original email and cc’d me (and bcc’d his entire contact list). Attached was a JPEG of his laundry receipt. He told her, “If I knew I could’ve replaced your laundry services so reasonably, I woulda divorced your sorry ass years ago.” So, anyway. ---

But the pride of that is trumped by the fact that I hate doing any of it. Not quite the same, but my brother came up with the concept of a “throw away vacation”. When you’re going on a trip you pack some of your older clothes. Stuff that’s ok to be worn one more time yet is close to being at the end of it’s life span. Shirts with a small stain, socks with little holes in it, faded undies, etc… You wear it once while on vaca and then toss it into the garbage. Not only does it give you the sensation of being a spoiled tycoon, you don’t come home to open your suitcase to a stench of dirty clothing. You bring 1 keeper set to wear home (but not a shirt. Wherever you’re traveling to you buy a tee shirt as a souvenir and wear that home). I’ve done this. It’s fun. ---

Vacuuming, which is why I got rid of most of the carpets in my house. I don’t like sweeping either, but can at least be moved to swiffer up the dust-bunnies about once a week. Dusting. Quentin Crisp was absolutely right when he said that the dust doesn’t get any worse after 4 years. ---

Dusting, so much so that I have reduced myself to buying cans of compressed air to get it done much quicker, then I still have to manually wipe things down every couple months because a thin film of dust will build up. I even use a HEPA air cleaner in a room and it helps big time, but I still have to dust. Won’t somebody think of the children and invent something that reduces dusting to once every 6 months? ---
