I got the new app [Zombies, Run!](https://www.zombiesrungame.com/) for my iPhone, and it’s very good - you get little snippets of a sort of radio drama where characters talk to you over your headset as you supposedly run around collecting needed items for your little surviving community. There are some mysteries developing, and I’m enjoying collecting underpants and other necessary supplies and using them to increase the levels of my various compound areas. One feature is you can have the app play songs from a playlist in between the story bits. It works pretty well for making a 30 minute walk (I just pretend I’m running for now) go by fast. But while Kesha and LMFAO provide good beats for a regular workout, I’d like to try something more in keeping with the game. So, what do you think would be a good zombie apocalypse soundtrack? It doesn’t necessarily have to be fast-paced. I’m looking for something to really get me in the mood of the game, rather than something to drive me along at a certain pace (the occasional zombie chases should do that nicely). So creepy, atmospheric instrumentals are quite welcome, as well as anything else y’all can think up! ---

For some reason, I get Run Lola Run’s [Wish (Komm zu Mir)](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeEM7bluhxA) in my head, not sure why. I guess you could imagine that they’re German zombies with intact vocal cords telling you to “come to me.” ---

My son-in-law just got this app and loves it. I may have to get it – it might actually get me back walking. I can’t link to youtube from here, but here are some of my suggestions: Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked by Cage the Elephant Bad Things by Jace Everett (from the True Blood soundtrack) I Put a Spell On You by Nina Simone – I have never been able to find the Bette Midler version, to my everlasting sadness O Death by Ralph Stanley 🙂 Zombie Me by No More Kings Spooky by the Atlanta Rhythm Section and everything off of Zombina & the Skeletones album “Taste the Blood of…” ---

My choice would be Nick Cave’s ‘[City of Refuge](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q52tV4l1XAQ)’: it’s got the right mood, haunting and driving, or perhaps haunted and driven, plus the lyrics – gutters that run with blood, being dragged towards the hell-mouth, and most of all, the grave will spew you out… What’s not to like? ---

Ha! I’d never heard Re: Your Brain before - hilarious! **limegreen** , it is pretty fun. They keep introducing little mysterious threads - I’m having fun with it! I’m going to have to check out more of your list - I Put a Spell on You is a winner, but I’m not digging Zombina. I found a few I like from the Ring soundtrack: This Is Going to Hurt She Never Sleeps Television Hopefully the kid will keep napping so I can check out more of these suggestions! ---

Basically any version of Dylan’s “A Hard rain’s A-Gonna Fall”. [Bryan Ferry’s](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zwBHd4kll0) is probably best for running from the undead. ---

Click Click Boom by Saliva Down With The Sickness by Disturbed and/or Richard Cheese (this one has some foul language, if that sorta thing bugs you) Highway to Hell by AC/DC (already mentioned, but I’d go with the version from AC/DC Live) Real Solution #9 by White Zombie (again, bad language) Live and Let Die by Guns 'n Roses (or Wings if you prefer) Alive by Pearl Jam ---
