The Killers? Pink? Blink 182? Those bands came in in the early 2000s. I guess I forgot that young people have a much more condensed timeframe when it comes to pop music.
In middle school I really liked heavy metal like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and so on. Now that music seems utterly ridiculous. It’s still sometimes fun to listen to though.
In an opposite way, I hated Def Leppard back in my teens, now I hear “Bringing on the heartbreak” on the radio, and I think its not such a bad song.
Yeah, same here. I thought it was super meaningful, important music. Ugh. Now my reaction is whiny, can’t sing for toffee, pretentious, etc.
I still like Tool, though. (I considered Nirvana and Tool my two fave bands at one point.)
(Weird Al) It’s hard to bargle nargle zous with all these marbles in my mouth (/Weird Al)
What’s wrong with John Denver? I love him…I still think that the Christmas episode of the Muppet Show is the best ever.
Now were talkin’ TEXAS BBQ
I still listen to everything that I liked before…all be it in moderation.
Too much new stuff to hear.
I was always the kind of person who didn’t pay much attention to music beyond the superficial “It’s got a beat, and you can dance to it.” I didn’t even try to figure out what the lyrics were, let alone attempt to understand what it was they were talking about.
For that reason, almost all the music I used to like, I still like, and the music I used to dislike and dismiss as shit, I can see is still shit. It’s also very satisfying when others wake up and now agree with me.
