I blame autocorrect. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

I always thought King Diamond would have made an awesome opera singer.

However massive Metallica may be, however well regarded they may be by metalheads, I shall continue to maintain that Kirk Hammett is a country-tinged blues player who somehow wound up in a thrash outfit.

I always imagined what Hendrix could have done with modern rack effects, digital processors, etc.

Speaking of which, Charo might have made something of herself [if she’d kept up with the guitar.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXnYQd6cqEc)

He has an amazing, timeless voice. Listening to him sing, I see myself in a swanky, smoked filled bar late at night lamenting wistfully about life. Oh yeah, and this would be in the 1950’s too.

[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5iXSBQKh2A&list=PLVKXUV0dJqqmO-Sac6-4Dl1myCMDGGTAx&index=9) is the song that most closely resembles what I was describing above. Swanky, classy, a bit sad and from a different era. Great music though.

Before he was a Country mega-star, Glen Campbell was a session musician for damn near everybody in the 1960’s, including a stint with the Beach Boys.

From [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glen_Campbell#1960%E2%80%931966:_Early_career).

> [@](#):
>
> Campbell played on recordings by the Beach Boys, Bobby Darin, Ricky Nelson, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, the Monkees, Nancy Sinatra, Merle Haggard, Jan and Dean,[16] Frank Sinatra, Ronnie Dove, Phil Spector and Elvis Presley.[20][17] He befriended Presley when he helped record the soundtrack for Viva Las Vegas in 1964. He later said, “Elvis and I were brought up the same humble way – picking cotton and looking at the north end of a south-bound mule.”[10] . . .
>
> From December 1964 to early March 1965, Campbell was a touring member of the Beach Boys, filling in for Brian Wilson,[16] playing bass guitar and singing falsetto harmonies. . . .
>
> Campbell played guitar on the Beach Boys’ 1966 album Pet Sounds, among other recordings. In April of that year, he joined Rick Nelson on a tour through the Far East, again playing bass.

He hit it big in Country, but if the cards had played out differently, he could have wound up anywhere on the Rock/Pop/R&B spectrum.
