ISTM it’s pretty obvious musk & trump hate one another but there is something holding them together. Probably that musk is paying trump a lot, and trump controls a lot of jails musk wants to stay out of. IOW, the balance of terror approach to running a cabinet. Anyone who’s watched much _Game of Thrones_ will recognize how it’s done. ---

I was given to believe that Musk called Navarro a “Mormon” who had “soured on BRICS.” Could I have heard that wrong?? I guess it’s possible 😉 ---

Maybe. Or he (musk) understands the maxim to keep your friends close and enemies closer. While trump slowly bleeds him dry via tribute to stay out of those jails. These are not ordinary people playing ordinary corporate middle management politics. ---

Musk is probably safe on this. As the stock market continues to plummet and everyone is saying that the tariffs were a bad idea, it has to be reaching even into Trump’s diminutive brain that the tariffs were a mistake. So he’ll backpedal and denounce the tariffs as if he was never involved. He won’t admit he screwed up so who’s the next name on the list to take the blame? Peter Navarro. ---

The tariffs are only a mistake from trump’s POV if he was trying to help the USA. If he was trying to sabotage it on orders from e.g. Putin, he seems to be doing a fine job. Or just doing it because a good depression is the best way to usher in the fascism he really wants. When the people are clamoring for the president to assume emergency powers, “dissolve” congress, and rule by pure decree, he’ll be ready. ---

If you watch any Fox News or look at the bulk of the replies to Trump’s Truth Social posts, you’ll find are nowhere near the point where “everyone” is saying they are a bad idea. On Truth Social they think it’s the boldest baddest move ever, Go Tariffs Fuck China We Need Even Higher Tariffs Trump is God! Fox is little more measured, but they are going back and forth between “Democrats and the mainstream media are fear-mongering, it’s a great buying opportunity, other countries are all rushing to be first in line to negotiate. They even played a clip of Jamie Dimon saying this would probably throw us into a depression, but they focused on analyzing his demeanor and decided he was speaking too calmly to be serious. ---

I was referring to ordinary folks being specifically targeted for something they themselves did that angered the toddler tyrant.
