Posted here because I believe The BBQ Pit should be for flaming posters, and not for recreational outrage.

The first thing in the Bill of Rights is an Amendment that assures one’s right to worship God (or not) as one pleases. That means that people are free to be Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Wiccan… and even Muslim. It is clear to me that the perpetrator of this crime hates the U.S. Constitution and, by extension, The United States of America.
And something else:
**Matthew 5:44** But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you;
**1 Peter 3:9** Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that you are thereunto called, that you should inherit a blessing.
I have no doubt that the murderous clown who killed the teenager would describe himself as a ‘Christian’. I guess he skimmed over the quotes above. Or perhaps he’s not really a Christian.

Interesting that the suspect as well as the victim are Somali. I wonder if there is religious conflict over there that is spilling into the (large and growing) Somali community in the USA, or this is just an isolated asshole.
I also confess to surprise that the suspect is not a white redneck.

I know, right?
You come to this country (or are born here) with the expectation of certain freedoms. There is the expectation that you will give the same respect as you receive. ‘My god’s better than your god’ isn’t the way it’s supposed to work.

What is he then? I did not see any information at all about the suspect at the OP’s link, except that he is a man in his 30s.

His hating the constitution is the least of his problems right now.
It’s likely some spillover from the domestic situation in Somalia. Foreign nutcases will be nutcases.

This story is a little confusing to me in light of what I know about the Somali community in the US. I’d be somewhat surprised if the killer had openly left Islam for (most likely) either Christianity or irreligion, given who is father is. This may be something related to sect or something else entirely. I will wait to see what the killer says his motivation is, but I will not wait to condemn this horrible slaying. It’s truly awful.

It says the son of the head of the Center was the _victim_, not the killer.

Your right to be suspiscious. Isn’t that a great headline? Lurid, but great. It ticks so many boxes for clicks. Far better than “Somali man murders Somali teen”. I have little doubt there is a religious element to this. However, neither would I be surprised if there were allsorts of tensions in the US-Somali community. Tensions which are part religious and in part political.

Nope, I don’t see anything about the identity of the killer, just that he tried to drive away and the attempted to run and was apprehended. I think we need more detail to know what the hell happened there, outside of some crazy idiot killed a teen for religious/sectarian reasons. ☹

I didn’t say he was Christian. I said I have no doubt he is, because the only group that seems to have such hatred for Muslims are Christians.
