Must dial area code for local numbers starting 10/24/21

This is the problem with time travel, it is the little things that trip you.

Bump to update, seems to have finally come into action, get a busy tone if I try 7 digit dialing, but goes through fine with 10.

Was fine up until last week, don’t know when it changed, think I first noticed it yesterday.

7 digit still works here.

In my home area of Hampton Roads, we commonly use 757. 948 has been added as an overlay, and as of about a month ago, it’s now mandatory to dial ten digits.

I just tested it and you can still use 7 digits here in Tennessee. I haven’t seen any information about it since my post from last September. :woman_shrugging:

Does anywhere use area code 666?

No. List of North American Numbering Plan area codes - Wikipedia

That’s in Ukraine.

I don’t know about area codes, but in my city of Topeka, KS the ZIP codes start with 666. Fred Phelps used to say that it was a sign that Topeka(where he lived) was damned. Other signs? The city motto used to be “The Golden City” and in the Biblical book of Revelations it stood for wicked Babylon. Oooh, and another indication was the name of our university Mascot, it was Mr. Ichabod. I’m told the biblical meaning of that is “God’s glory has departed.”

Maybe we will be ground zero for the zombie apocalypse.:
