My A1C is Up

Also, I forgot to add, I take a lot of vitamin supplements.

I take a multiple. All my doctors are aware of this. But some Vitamins may be duplicated. For example, I get Vitamin C in the multiple. But I also take an eye Vitamin complex that contains C. And recently I have started taking a gelatin supplement that also contains C (my nails are so brittle).

Plus, speaking of the B vitamins, I also take an extra supplement form of that. (I use to drink a little to excess in my youth. And I heard Thiamine counteracts harm done by alcohol.)

My doctor once told me excess vitamins end up in the urine. So does it overtax the kidneys too?

It’s probably ok, but why take unnecessary vitamins just to piss them away? Vitamin supplements are rarely helpful unless one has been diagnosed with a specific deficit or has problems absorbing nutrients in the first place, as can occur with ulcerative colitis and other bowel diseases, etc.

I guess I can update you on my Kidneys (as I said, the Dr says it’s being affected by my Type II Diabetes). I had my gastroenterologist do a blood test last Wednesday. (I also had him check my Calcium levels, on the advice of my pharmacist.)

They should’ve had the results by Friday. But no one called me. So I guess no news is good news, no?

I am also going to see my urologist at the end of the month. I plan on bringing it up with him too.

By all means, thoughts?
