# My addiction

Besides the SDMB, I mean. It’s Canada mints. They’re those pink, round lozenge shaped wintergreen candies you can find sometimes in those displays at the drugstore. I can’t find them in very many stores, but when I do, lordamighty, look out. I will eat them obsessively, one after another, until I give myself a damn headache from all the sugar and my tongue turns a decidedly unnatural shade of pink.
Anyone else a Canada-mint-a-holic?

My obsession is pepomint Lifesavers…I tried Altoids and they are good…very good…and very addictive…and too expensive a habit for me to support. I am not a huge fan of Canada mints, they seem to stick to my teeth when they get wet, and after a while the flavour gets a bit cloying.

We call them pink lozenges around here.
I myself like them very much, but not to the point of addiction. My mother, on the other hand, is very much like you. Oh, how she loves them.
Growing up with a pink lozenge addict was hard. She’d buy my brother and I healthy, non-sugary snacks, like apples and carrots, and hide her stash from us. We always knew when she’d been lozenging, though. The tell-tale pink ring around her lips, her sugar-glazed stare, the LOOK if we even THOUGHT about sneaking one of her candies…man, it got really rough at times.
