God wants people saved. If you speak out against Him or His Son’s Redemptive work of salvation you are being evil. You are literally doing the work of the Evil One.
Would you say that Tomás de Torquemada was a good person?
I don’t think you understand what “empirical” means. Empiricism is observation without bias or expectation. A truly empirical observation is “I see a white round shape,” not “I see an angel on a chariot.” You might be able to find some characteristics that resemble what you THINK is an angel on a chariot, but you cannot empirically conclude what you’re seeing is actually an angel on a chariot.
Photographers have studied orbs to determine how they can keep from capturing them, and they did so empirically.
As you can see, they’ve observed every environment and photographic setup and determined the ones in which orbs are most likely to occur. Test, observe, record. Test, observe, record. That’s empirical thinking. That’s how we managed to creep out of the dark ages. We found out that the heart isn’t the center of the human body by actually cutting open human bodies. We found out the Earth was round because we actually sailed instead of relying on the old belief that it was flat. We found out colds were caused by germs, not because we displeased God.
That is a PDF link. Just a bit of advice, ScottRP: On this board, it’s considered good form to alert others that a link you’ve posted is a PDF. The reason for that is quite a number of posters have issues with their computer opening online PDFs.
It also seems that a careful reading of that letter evidences there was prior correspondence to that letter’s author advising him that his, let’s call it, take on religious issues is heretical as far as the Roman Catholic Church is concerned.
Tell us, ScottRP, did you write that letter? Is “[your] post [your] cite”?
You didn’t answer the question.
So if I disagree with you, I’m going to Hell? What gospel mentions your holy works?
[short aside]Hah! Your comment reminded me of what happened a little over a year ago at my LDS branch here in Beijing during Sacrament service. As the priests were passing the Sacrament bread to one little boy, the boy asked his mother rather loudly, “Where’s the jam?” I was sitting two rows behind him so I heard him quite clearly. And I thought, “That would be cool, wouldn’t it?”
[back on topic]While I, along with that youngster, thought it would be cool, what we do not do is go around saying that something that is obviously not part of our church’s doctrine and tradition is part of its doctrine and tradition.
ScottRP: There was one poster on this board a while ago who says he’s both Muslim and Mormon. Your posts in this thread show you are trying to do something similar.
Yet, they fail to explain all these eye witness accounts of orbs. It is funny that no one who has actually seen one agrees with you. You agree with those who are ignorant of orbs. And just why is it that thousands of people all over the internet call these spiritual orbs…spirit orbs, angel orbs, and ghost orbs? This is because they are a real living spiritual entity!
Thanks for the heads up on the PDF. No, I did not write that letter. In fact, I failed to even read it before I posted it when I should have. My apologizes.
What exactly is it that you find not part of the Church doctrine?
So, basically you’re tossing stuff against the wall and hoping it sticks. By the way, what common item usually sticks to the wall when chucked against said wall?
Spaghetti.
If god wants people saved, maybe he could send a saviour to die in some horrible manner as some kind or sacrifice or something - if only that would happen.
Oh, wait - –
Actaully - if GOD wanted people to be saved, all he would have to do is wave his little hand and say “you’re saved” - he wouldnt do all this other shit.
I have written nothing against scripture nor Catholic Church doctrine. If you feel that I have please bring it up and state your case.
No, I just didn’t have the time to look over that particular piece is all. Next time I will not post before reading.
And one more time - just because you have yet to ansser it —
WHO CREATED THE EVIL ONE???
Yeah, right. Look, you said you didn’t even read the thing you tossed on here and said proves your assertions. That’s not “lack of time”. It’s something else entirely.
That was merely a confessed error on my part. I did read a little of it, but not enough.
More importantly, where is your proof that I have written something contrary to scripture or Catholic Theology? You have made the claim. Now, let’s see it.
Lucifer was created a good angel. He, of his own free will turned evil. A better question is…who feeds him?
If whoever created him hadn’t, there would be nothing to feed.
