It’s always been a 12 to 14. But good reminder
I had good training at work on how people crack passwords. It’s much more sophisticated than I can explain here. And correcthorsebatterystaple will not work, nor will anything else that follows that approach.
The only way people will break into my blog is if they can break into the Google Blogger password server.
Now up to 2000 hits a day. At some point Blogger may send me a note about too many hits, and I’ll have to shut it down.
That’s not true. It’s not as secure as a straight 26^x formula would make you think. But, if we took the top 8000 words that people use and try them together in various permutations, that password is still 8000^4 combinations big (4,096,000,000,000,000). At 259,200,000 requests per day, it would take 21,647 years to reach 50/50 odds of cracking it.
