My daughter called last night. She’s a freshman at an east coast university (Don’t go there!!:mad: No Penthouse Forum takeoff allowed!). It’s also my alma mater. She told me a prof in her department just got a Nobel prize. The last time active faculty at my august university got a Nobel, it was while I was a senior undergrad there. Between the time I left and the time daughter arrived, they had no undergrads with our surname and won no nobel prizes!! I think we should be invited out to the official awards dinner at the very least! Oh yeah, and give my kid a full scholarship, retroactive to this year! QtM ---

Congrats on the Nobel-by-association, **QtM**. Although I must admit that it is funny to hear a Man of Science (being the physician that you are) pointing out the Karma/Luck/Magic aspect to all this… Hey, wait - is there something you aren’t telling us? Are you really a witch doctor? ---

Hah! Where I work, scientists in our Chemistry Dept. have won Nobels the last two years running! Clearly this has something to do with my very excellent computer graphics skills (I’m in the Graphics Dept.). Even though I have never met the two doctors involved nor done any artwork for either of them. Just goes to show…er…something. ---

And don’t bother holding Harvard up to me. _I_ trained at Johns Hopkins, rated the number one hospital in the nation for many years running. Hahvahd’s affiliated institutions (Massive Genital, Peter Bent, etc.) come in further down the list! Yes, yes, I know, it’s all fame by association. I work in a freakin’ prison, for god’s sake! But I got to know Dr. Milton Eisenhower (Dwight’s brother) well enough to invite him to our student ghetto apartment for his birthday dinner (the wine he brought was worth more than all our furniture). Oooh! Oooh! New prison anecdote! Today one of my nurses got a note from one of the prisoners, saying he was having problems with his penis getting real hard, and he wanted a nurse to help him! Methinks our rapscallion will spend a little contemplative time on the segregation unit. ---
