my knees,elbows,back crack themselves when i move,i understand how/why,but…during sex when i am “deep” my penis cracks at the base.its not uncomfortable but how/why does this happen? 😕 ---

i understand how joints “pop”,but how does that pop?the first time it happened it scared the crap out of me! ---

There actually is a bone called the baculum in the penis of most mammals (but not humans, actually, so unfortunately this doesn’t answer your question), according to this thread: [Why don’t I have a bone in my penis?](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=283077) Maybe there is erectile tissue extending back into your body far enough that it can “crack” against some other bone? ---

When _Loveline_ was running on MTV in the late-90’s this question came up at least once (if not more often). Dr. Drew said that there is a joint that can pop, just like in your fingers, elbows, knees, etc. From what I remember, he said there’s nothing to worry about. (Usual disclaimers apply.) ---
