Every time I take a vacation (I am entitled to three weeks a year), I always try to do my best to tie up any loose ends before leaving. Then, in a few days, I call-in to see how things are doing (at one time, we were _required_ to do this…now I simply do it out of habit and a sense of duty). Invariably, my boss gets on the phone and tells me what a fuck up I am, that the place is flying apart or something, how I totally dropped the ball on this project or that assignment, etc. One time, he had another manager clear off my desk and throw everything into a box because “it didn’t look neat” (although _his_ desk looks like a pack of wolves ravaged it). Then, he interjects “…but you’re on vacation…just relax and we’ll see you in a week…” Yeah. Sure. I can relax, like I’m about ready to be fired. Ultimately, it turns out to be nothing really, just him overreacting, but shit, why does he do this **every fucking time???** Like, he hates having me leave on vacation, having to pay me, so he’s gonna fuck me up while I’m away… Relax…yeah, relax _this_, ya fuck. …sorry about all the “fucks” Diane, but: fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck :mad: ---

About what a shitty, worthless employee I was, and then how my taking vacation destroyed the entire department’s ability to function. I finally got so annoyed I broke up over the answering machine(gave two weeks notice on the fourth day of a three week vacation on his voice mail, leaving no to-be-reached-at number). ---

{{poopah chalupa}} Don’t call next time. That turd you call your boss is taking advantage of the fact that you give a shit about your job. All you’re getting out of it is a spoiled vacation. Like your boss said, enjoy your time off… don’t waste it thinking about work. And hey, the bastard touches the stuff on your desk when you’re away? Not cool. ---

If you’re such a fuck-up, why is the place falling apart without you? I worked for an jerk like this once. At review/raise time, I was just a “satisfactory” worker who could be easily replaced, but when I wanted some time off, I was irreplaceable and had to leave 6 different ways to be reached. While I was working for this idiot, I was put on bedrest for a complicated pregnancy, but they called me at least 4 or 5 times a day to ask really stupid questions, _e.g, (Where is the toner for the photocopier? What time does the mail come? How do I order supplies from Office Depot)?_. I finally told them I couldn’t answer the phone anymore quit answering it. The office manager had the nerve to call me IN THE HOSPITAL, 2 days after an emergency C-section to ask me where the left-over Christmas cards from the previous year were. I hung up on her. Obviously, I don’t work there anymore.
