Aro, if you have any evidence that the IRA has anything to do with the “problems” in Colombia, I’m sure the Colombian prosecutors would like to see it. God knows _they_ don’t seem to have any. ---

Oh, and I’d like to add that my Irish heritage on my dad’s side is part of the reason I still consider myself tied to Catholicism. I like John Shelby Spong and **Polycarp** kicks ass, but everytime I think about going Episcopal, I hear this little voice inside my head screaming about the “bloody Church of ENGLAND!!!” (A stupid question, though-what exactly does “Erin Go Bragh” mean?) ---

No, sorry Kal. Not for Irish women to go topless. Just for Erin to go topless. You know Erin? Was going out with Todd? FTR, I don’t think “Erin go bragh” means anything. I assume it is some sort of mad bastardisation of “Eireann go brea” or similar, whic would basically be “Lovely Ireland”. But then I am a product of the Irish education system, and can barely string two words together and am prolly talking crap. Oh and Guin, whatever IRA might have “started as” (a discussion for another time and place) the means of the IRA that have been in action for the past 30 years or so have been entirely those of a paramilitary terrorist organisation. Please don’t have any romantic thoughts about “the boys at home”. ---

It is pretty bad isn’t it :o I don’t have a clue about Irish\* so I’m just going on memory. \*The only thing I know how to say is “Can I go to the toilet” as you had to ask in Irish but I can’t even write that as I don’t know how to spell what I say, in other words I’m a typical Dubiner. ---

Great scene in the film “The Matchmaker” where the romantic lead guy is under pressure to speak some irish in front of his american flirt. “An bfhuil cead agam dul go dti an leithras” pops out. She looks duely impressed. I nearly died laughing while mrsIteki looked on confused. ---
