Oohh ☹ we need to get you either two other verbs or two other nouns to put on either side of that Anahita… hmmm let me think. God my Irish is so fucked, basterdbitchirishtecher! I was fluent as a kid, 5 years with this teacher wiped my mental HD. She “taught” me Irish and Latin for 5 years and I can’t string a sentance. I got myself university level swedish in 6 months, and spoke fluent french after two years of non-immersed through secondary school. I blame her totally and fully for fucking two languages for me. Bitchfromhell. Lets see… Bainne agus suicre? That could be a useful one, milk and sugar? ---

Heh 🙂 does it count as a hijack when the thread has already passed through about 8 subjects? Most kids start “real school” between the ages of 4 and 5, and start Irish then. I believe 8 years of primary school and then 5 or 6 more (depending on the school) for secondary school. If children have been to pre-school they may have started learning some words then. Like airplane 🙂 eitlean. Iteki - wouldn’t know a fada if it jumped up and bit me on the arse ---

Re “Erin Go Bragh” there is, in fact, an Irish phrase _go brách_ which means “forever”, and is probably the source of the phrase. ---

Some more of my favorite Irish things: waking up to see the just-milked cows grazing outside my bedroom window a Flake bar in vanilla ice cream watching the dogs chase a jackrabbit through a field hearing the hum of a car engine approach and seeing the car drive past the gate seeing some old-timer driving a cart pulled by a donkey ---

I dunno…I live in the hot and dry, where every hill is a different color of brown, but I’m not sure I want to live in Ireland and be damp all the time. Tends to keep the temperature in, whether hot or cold. Do blue skies happen in Ireland? I haven’t seen one in any pictures. ---
