Honest to Pete, I can no longer read English on the first try. I am repeatedly reading thread titles wrong. Just in IMHO, I THOUGHT I saw: “Cat people: what do you think of Chevy Chase?” “Anyone ever had an energy adult?” “Sailing in the B. Springsteen” “Autographed photo scam (hypnosis please)” “Skipping a dog” I’m losin’ it, I tell ya. ---

I think it’s nuthin’. I have always done shit like that, and I have 20/20 vision. And mine are far, far more disturbing. For example, I’m walking down the street, and I pass an apartment block. The mailboxes out the front are numbered 1 to _whatever_, and then there’s one bigger one marked “BODY CORPORATE” (the building admin), but do I read it thus out of the corner of my eye? Nope. I see _BLOODIED CORPSE_. So you got nuthin’ to worry about. 😃 ---

Driving through Reno late in the evening after being on the road for a very long time I _thought_ the billboard said “Loosest Progressive Sluts”. At the time it did seem to make perfect sense as in many areas of Nevada prostitution is legal… Of course mrAru was baffled when I asked him what a progressive slut would happen to be … ---

[/QUOTE] Thank you very much for your concern, but I’m pretty sure it’s a mental glitch and not a visual one. I have terrible eyesight, but I have recently-prescribed contact lenses, AND reading glasses (I’d still rather be 40 than pregnant). I just seem to be suffering a side effect of skimming, wherein I am anticipating words and transposing sentences. It’s happened to me. I put it down to the brain registering the top half of a word or phrase, then playing an instant guessing game, before announcing with a “Ta-DA!” that the word is something it definitely isn’t. The eyes just get tired and go along with it for peace and quiet. ---

A few yrs ago, I had a Minor TIA (Transceint Ischemic Attack)… a so called mini stroke… I got off lightly and lucky. (pretty much back to 100% after a few months, pretty normal (what ever that is)) after a few days. One of the things that happened a few days before the TIA was a seeming difficulty in “reading and comprehension” of normal written material. I would scramble wordss in sentences, similair to a classic form of dyslexia. Apparently this is not uncommon. You may wish to check in with your doctor about this, especially if the effect has come on suddenly (over the course of a few days) Just a heads up, and I hope I don’t cause any undue worry… Regards FML ---
