Good news. He “had another brain scan today and the Docs are pleased with his progress.” My nephew (his son) says “He is not talking much and is sleeping a lot” which if you knew my brother is shocking. 🙂 ---

I feel obliged to point out that there is a genetic component to some aneurysms. You and your family should look into getting screened, especially in view of the story about your father. I hope your brother does well. ---

Best Wishes for a speedy recovery given a bad situation, **JSgoddess**. [busybodymode] Spend time with him, talk to him. Remind him of good times, times that he made you proud & tell him how much you love him. I lost my Dad to a catastrophic second stroke not 1 minute after I got to his hospital room. I had just barely said “Dad I’m here…” when a nattering relative over-talked me about her daughter’s HS dating problems until the stoke hit. I never got to tell him I loved him or say how proud I was of him. Your brother may be fine & will likely recover fully, so what would it _really_ hurt to tell him how much you love him now? Also hoping for the best for your brother, **jsgoddess**. The updates you’ve posted sound very encouraging. There is a book called\* My Stroke of Insight\* which, even though written by a brain scientist, is a tad woo for my taste, but useful for her description of her own hemorrhagic stroke and for the list she includes of [40 things a Stroke Survivor May Need](http://http://www.incareofdad.com/article-detail/140/40-things-a-stroke-survivor-may-need.html) in the days immediately following. You and your brother are both in my thoughts. ---

Good news, from my mother: "he seemed to be his old self…trying to be in charge. Don’t know yet when he will be out of the hospital. The aneurysm was a small vein rupture and is somewhat pinpointed in area. As I understand it, not life or mobility threatening. He will be restricted on the hours worked, etc., for a time." Thank you to everyone for your support. It looks like things are really looking up. ---
