# my cat and isopropyl alcohl

my cat had 2 or 3 licks of a bag of an ice pack that contained isopropyl alcohol and the bag had a leak in it. should i be worried about possible poisoning or toxicity\>

I just googled and interestingly enough,[this SDMB thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=404531) was the second result.
Further searching indicates that “2 or 3 licks” won’t do any harm. [Watch for signs of toxicity,](http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=2+1677&aid=2253) and call your vet or (or given that it’s early Sunday morning here) a 24/7 emergency vet clinic at your earliest convenience.
