My mother told me the story of how my father’s parents used to have a cat that was terrified of the carpet in their living room. This cat would walk along the uncarpeted edge of the room and jump from one piece of furniture to another to get where it wanted to be. For fun, they would occasionally pick the cat up and drop it in the middle of the floor. Heh… The cat would freak and launch itself to the nearest uncarpeted space. I only wish I was around at the time to see it.
An ex had a cat that was afraid of the air vent. She would sit (at a distance) and hiss at it.

Our fat siameses often do similar things with the new tile floor we have in our lanai. When Min Mei finally decided to venture in there, she was all crouched down on the floor, tail whiping from left to right. I was having a beer with my wife and accidentaly put it down too loud on the glass table. She arched and boinked several steps to the side, and has not entered the lanai since. :rolleyes: Oh well thats why we have them right?
