> That was cute, but I was especially amused by the one cat sitting in the big cuppy chair watching the tuxedo kitty running back and forth with that “stupid cat” expression on his face, and I was hoping the toy would get thrown up into the chair so the cat there would have to deal with the hyperexcited tuxedo barrelling up into his space. 🙂

Incidentally, cat in chair (Kero, female) is the least playful but most loveable, been-through-hell-and-back rescue kitty, and she usually has an air of being “wiser” than Bastian (the grey “tuxedo” cat, also female). So that “stupid cat” look is real. Sebastian is big, clumsy, f’n neurotic, and generally just weird, however, she has strange moments of supercatintelligence that leave Mr. Stasaeon and I amazed and confounded. She’s our “special child”. 😃 Kero, on the other hand, is just bright all the time, and as a bonus, she loves everyone to death if they’re nice to her. But she does seem to think Sebastian is pretty dim. She’s not too far off. But then I say that and I’ll find Bastian doing the NY Times crossword or something.

And for your amusement: Sebastian does barrel into Kero regularly. Hourly. She does it to the rest of us, too. And across tables and desktops and cupboards. She’s broken a few bowls and glasses in her day, knocked a few plants to their deaths. You can make her barrel around, too, she hates being touched: just pick the bitch up. Like letting go of a windup toy wound too tightly. I love it.

That is pretty cute, **Ana**. I have to figure out how to link up my home movies of my kitties - my cat loves to be swung around in a laundry basket, and my husband’s cat loves to orbit him - whenever he sits on the floor, she plops down on the floor beside him and pulls herself around him. It’s pretty darned entertaining.

Okay, doing a little more research on cats seeing in colour, it appears that they do, somewhat. From [this](http://archives.gophercentral.com/index.php!op!news!id!1596) site (about halfway down):

> According to vest cats do see in color, although not exactly the way we do. In our tests, cats appeared to distinguish between the low to mid light wave spectrum (higher frequency), meaning cats responded to the colors purple, blue, green and yellow range. Red, orange and brown colors appear to fall outside cats color range and are most likely seen as shades of gray or purple.

Oh, with those two it was hate at first sight. Streaker used to sleep between us with his back to my then-boyfriend. He would bite his feet in bed at night. There was nothing but antipathy there. Streaker knew that guy was a bad egg (too bad it took me so long to realize it)…

Bah … doesn’t count. Everybody knows French cats are veritable geniuses.

(p.s. it’s a she 🙂 )

You don’t have the only [smart cat](http://pics.livejournal.com/wilee_coyote/pic/00008ycc/g4). I took this months ago, I can’t make out the date on the screen but the threaad is about self-cleaning litterboxes.

Can I get your cat’s email address? Mine gets a little lonely in the apartment by herself all day.
