Very sorry to hear that this happened to your family. When my mother died, she went from doing fine to critically ill overnight, so I know how shocking and traumatic it can be to see a loved one in the ICU under these kinds of circumstances. I also know from that experience how heartbreaking it is to be in the position of having to make the decision that it’s time to stop life support for a loved one. It sounds like they did everything they could have for him. Peace to you and your family. ---

I’m so sorry to hear this sad news. I hope you and your mom will be alright. Your father might still be able to hear and understand from time to time. If you speak soothingly to him that might help him with the transistion. Maybe even explain to him what’s going on. It could help all of you to understand, maybe, and do this one last thing together. (I hope I don’t sound morbid. I was in a coma once and would have appreciated this.) ---

That’s so terrible and I’m sorry you’re going through this. My dad, age 77, is about to undergo major surgery this week, so my heart really aches for you as I’m scared shitless. I can’t imagine being without your dad. ☹ I’m not very good with prayers, but I definitely offer some to you and his loved ones. It must be a shock to have this happen out of the blue. My parents are in their mid-60s and I know I wouldn’t be prepared for something like this. You and your family are in my thoughts. ---
