It’s patchouli. Buy her some sandalwood oil, it smells wonderful!

Boy am I glad you brought this up, **DDG**. I’ve been wondering for years what that Raid-smelling stuff was. What I can’t figure out is how anyone can take a whiff of this vile brew at a perfume counter and imagine that it smells good.

I have an aunt who wears this same scent. I haven’t the heart to tell her.

I once dated a girl who wore this scent as well. I found the heart to tell her pretty quickly. She was mildly insulted, but I figured it couldn’t be any worse for her than having your boyfriend make unexplained gagging sounds during every close encounter…

Feynn, I had the same idea, but having had a teenaged boyhood and remembering parts of it, I can tell you that Duck Duck Goose could douse The Cat with sheep dip and kerosene, and I’d have still thought she smelled good.

Instead, find the cute, hunky guy in school, and bribe him to mention in her presence that he likes a more tolerable brand. Flies… Honey… vinegar…

Okay, I canNOT be the only 30ish woman who read the part about “perfumes for young teenage girls” and immediately thought “Love’s Baby Soft.”

Ah, the early '80s . . . painter pants, feathered hair, “Boston” on the sound system at those dances at the Junior High gym . . . and every girl smelling of Love’s Baby Soft. Those were the days – and I wouldn’t go back to them if you paid me. 🙂

**Jodi** : Either that, or stealing some of mom’s _Charlie_ or _Enjoli_. Man, did I . . . er, I mean, **my sister** used to get chewed out for that! 😃

Suggestions for good perfumes:
Beautiful by Estee Lauder
It’s pretty heavy though, so a teenager who overdoes the perfume thing might make you sick–but at least it’s a sweet smell!

My daughter has some that is a real light, fresh clean scent. I’ll look in her room and find out what it is.

I feel your pain, absolutely nothing, including a festering case of B.O., is worse than someone who has marinated themselves with bad perfume. The B.O. stench you can walk away from, the bad perfume lays seige to you.

A couple of weeks ago on the news they were interviewing a boy who wore cologne to school and made all the kids vomit, and was sent home. That had to be the most embarrassed kid on earth!

My teenaged daughter wears CK1 which actually smells pretty good especially in light doses. Here’s what she does: spray a light mist in front of her, run through the mist with eyes closed and chin lifted to get just the right amount placed exactly in the right areas. It’s so funny–a ballet performance to apply perfume.

you know, coming from a younger guy, the ONLY few colognes I wear to have to be Avatar (I get picked up and asked out by girls for wearing that) and Hugo… I have an aged bottle of Michael Jordan that I hated when I bought, but 3 years later I picked it up and it smells SOOOO good!!! but for Females, Tommy Hilfiger for women smells really good, I love it, Victoria’s Secret… and ANYTHING that smells like Vanilla (Natural Aphrodisiac)
most available for under 50 bucks

I used to be shy about telling people they stink, but not anymore.
When I smell perfume that smells like OFF, I’ll say quite loudly, so EVERYONE can here me “Wow, someone reeks like OFF. Do you smell that? You don’t? Oh God, it must be someone’s perfume.”
Of course, it doesn’t change the stench, but I hope whoever stinks gets the hint.

Not all perfumes smell like bug-repellant, but almost all of them smell like bibliophage-repellant.

A few years ago, my dogs had fleas, so I got a spray from the vet. As I was spraying it around the house, my sister said, “I used to work with a girl who wore perfume that smelled just like that.” I said, “Maybe she just had fleas, and you didn’t know it.”

Love’s Baby Soft? Um they still have that stuff. Ick I wore it a few times and I found it just gross so I didn’t anymore. Actually I find a good place to go for perfume in The Body Shop you can get some wonderful smelling perfume for cheaper then in a department store. I find Leap is wonderful… feminine yet strong (not like strong strong but it gives that hint. Its hard to describe)

I also really love the emotions perfumes. (You know Crazy, Happy, Flirty etc) They are all wonderful I find (well most of them) but I prefer Crazy myself. Also they are really cheap you can get them at the drugstore or Reflections for 5 bucks a bottle or thereabouts.

If anyone out there ever plans on seducing me, Vanilla scent is the way to go. Not overpowering, and doesn’t have the harsh biting scent that many perfumes do.

I usually use Drakkar, as my girlfriend does not permit anything else. It was torture for a while, but I got used to it. See, I used to love Drakkar, and had a large bottle of it. At some point, my sink got infested with these little bugs (I think some fruit got stuck in there) and I grabbed the only thing I could find to spray them with – my Drakkar. I sprayed the hell out of them hoping whatever was in the perfume would prove fatal to the bugs, but all it wound up doing was associating Drakkar with bug spray in my mind, and for the next few years, it was all I could think of when I wore Drakkar.
