My dentist won't make my upper plate to my specs

Great.
I want fangs now.

BODONI! I CURSE YOU !

In all seriousness, when a patient has a cap or replacement tooth made, a dental technician will match the patient’s tooth color against a sample of artificial teeth. There’s actually quite a bit of variation in tooth color.

When I smile, only my upper teeth show. That’s just how my mouth is constructed. So I chose a very white color for my uppers. If I’m gonna have false teeth, why NOT have them as attractive as they can be? The dentist and the technician agreed with me.

Filing them into fangs wouldn’t work…fangs have to be long, as well as sharp. And I really wanted a killer smile. I’m sure I could find a dentist who would make me some fangs, but I really, really like this dentist. He’s very gentle, very good, and very quick. He is very concerned about pain control. If I really want to, I can find another dentist to make another upper plate, this one with fangs for those special occasions, when I really want to make an impression.

Incidentally, when our youngest cat was getting HIS adult fangs in, the new ones grew in alongside his kitten fangs. I thought this was kind of neat, and would pick him up, tell him to “Say CHEESE!”, and pull his lips back so I could see his double fangs. He didn’t particularly care for this, but I would always scratch his chin afterwards, so he figured it was worth putting up with.

Why anybody would want their dentures to match their glasses is beyond my ability to comprehend.
