My dog is broken. Help me fix him (and his non-eating ways)

I feel the need to share this: Dog Breeders Issue Massive Recall Of '07 Pugs. “While pug owners are accustomed to dog malfunction, the latest animals are prone to more problems than just the usual joint failures, overheating, seizures, chronic respiratory defects, and inability to breed without assistance. The latest model pug is simply not in any way a viable dog.”

Update.

He wouldn’t eat breakfast or dinner so I caved and bought different food. If my cat (who will eat garbage and was a stray) rejects it, it must not be terribly good.

Bought some new food and he turned up his nose at it again. I enticed him to eat, he took it and spit it out. Frustrated, I left the room… and he started eating. So I guess he didn’t like that kind. Funny… just a few weeks ago, ‘kibble time’ was thrilling excitement. I’ll have to make sure to watch his treats.

Could be related but he keeps sniffing around his bowl and licking his chops every time he sees me. I think he’s been hungry, he just decided he didn’t like his food and my initial responses to offer him treats were a mistake.

He’s been pretty active actually. Surprisingly. I take him to the dog park at least once or twice a week, plus over to my sisters’ houses at least once per week on top of that, plus I take him outside for romping time most days at lunch… spoiled dog. Just in the last couple of days, he’s been out and about with me more often than not in the evening, with a doggy play date on Monday, dog park Sunday, and over at a family member’s house on Tuesday for a few hours in the fenced yard while I went biking. At home, he’s active too, running around the house to follow me, chase the cat, or play on most days until about 10pm, when it’s sleep-on-the-couch-time. Unlike my sister’s pug, who is pretty…stationary.

I guess this was just one of those battles. I’m fine buying a more expensive kibble, but I’m not feeding him wet food, blugh.

Just finished his bowl! I praised him and he seems very happy and waggy now.
